I’m so grateful for this app, it’s a watchdog over certain corrupt activities and it aids our family on day to day medical treatment for my children. My daughter struggles to breathe from a compromised bronchial tract from the effects of the Keystone Sanitary Landfill (KSL) and leachate running through our combined Sewer System in Scranton, PA. As the head of the neighborhood group, we have sued both the landfill, City & Mayor over the issuance of an “Amended Permit” allowing the flow of leachate despite a 2002 Court Order directing that KSL utilize a dedicated line to the stop of this criminal activity. PA DEP stands by in fear of Louis DeNaples while our residents and my child suffer.
Additionally, her twin sister suffers from severe seasonal allergies and this app provides 100% accurate data that aids me on which meds to give her. We all have this on our phones, including our oldest daughter who is a student at Loyola University, Chicago. Thank you, this app is a must!
How are pollen counts measured?
I have this app to monitor pollen counts so I have a better idea of when to avoid outdoor activities. I don’t understand the “system” this app uses for counting pollen. Today the city of Atlanta broke a 35 year pollen record with multiple sources (not counting my own nose🤪) having the count over 14,000. Yet, this app shows the count as 10.4. One week ago local sources had Atlanta’s pollen count as 72 and yet this app showed it as 8.8. The difference between 72 and 14,000 (as measured locally) tells me the pollen has increased significantly. The difference between 8.8 and 10.4 (as measured by this app) implies a much less drastic increase in pollen. You can see that this app’s method of measuring clearly does not provide the user a clear picture of how high the pollen is (especially relative to previous days). I can’t find any other source that measures pollen the same way as this app so I have to really doubt the reliability of their data. If the pollen count in this app made sense, it would be great because it does work with Apple Watch. But, given this inconsistency in methodology, I also doubt the accuracy of the AQI and other measurements.
Phenomenal air quality app
I have lived in China and Taiwan for 6 years and tried multiple air quality apps. This one is by far the best for two big reasons: data sources and data history. When I was in China and didn't know what air quality data to trust, I found that this one offered the most choices of data sources and was the most consistent with my personal experience of the air and my handheld air quality monitor. Also, it lets you visualize air quality over the last few days to see how bad (or good it's been) and even check air quality in different places to see which city you might want to move to (haha). Irreplaceable. Thank you so much to the creators of this app! (You could charge a few more dollars to remove ads and I would pay.)
