Episode #026 - Joshua Towers AKA Teenage Helpline

Episode #026 - Joshua Towers AKA Teenage Helpline

In this episode, we are joined by Joshua Towers, the founder of Teenage Helpline. At just 14 years old, Joshua established this non-profit organisation to provide crucial peer-to-peer mentoring support to young people across the UK. Having faced his own struggles as a teenager, Joshua saw the need for this kind of service and took it upon himself to make sure that other young people wouldn't feel alone in their struggles. He now leads a team of over 130 staff members, driving clear, progressive strategies that continue to grow the organisation.

Apart from running Teenage Helpline, Joshua also works full-time for ExxonMobil as an EAME Business HR Advisor and the UK I&D Lead. He is instrumental in developing and delivering key I&D strategies and initiatives to promote employee wellbeing and togetherness in the workplace.

Joshua's personal and professional journey took a tragic turn when he lost his father at the age of 17. This experience showed him how much support he had and what is needed when dealing with the loss of a parent at such a young age. It is these experiences and his extensive charity trustee and executive level leadership experience in the voluntary sector that make Joshua a compelling guest for our podcast. Join us as we delve into the pressures young people face with mental health and how Joshua's own experiences have shaped his life's work.

Episode #025 - Mark Ashmore AKA Future Artists

Episode #025 - Mark Ashmore AKA Future Artists

In this episode of CamTalks, I'm with Mark Ashmore, BBC producer and founder of Future Artists. The quote 'Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible ' pretty much sums up Mark's life. As a filmmaker and entrepreneur he's produced Portal Web series, which was the first ever series commission for Dailymotion, and part funded by Screen Yorkshire. Opened a social enterprise called Honest Coffee and held virtual reality,  immersive entertainment and gaming events. I met Mark when he taught a lesson in my film school and we're been mate ever since.

Real stories and great host!

It's not often you get a show where you want to listen to the host as much as the guest but Cam really does know how to steer a good conversation!
