Finally finding out what happened to Queenie!
Finally finding out what happened to Queenie! After Queenie’s nephew was kidnapped and she was shot and left for dead, the MC and especially Sledge, work to help find him while also helping Queenie recover. Queenie has had a rough childhood and an equally rough adulthood, bringing us to her taking care of her nephew after her sister dies. None of the pain matters if she doesn’t have her last connection to her sister. Between her and the MC they are doing anything they can to get him back – including claiming them both. Through taking care of Queenie (reluctantly on both parts), we see more from Sledge as he gets to know her and her past both in childhood and adulthood. My heart broke for Queenie, but I was so happy that Sledge was there to pick her up and be there for her. I also loved that Queenie was able to give us a different version of Sledge and show that he’s not all muscle but has some heart and a soft spot; especially for a child he’s never met. I loved the progression of the story, and how we were able to get resolution for everyone involved. Can’t wait for the next installment in this series!
