As a genre book lover especially mens adventure novels (Mack Bolan, etc.) love this podcast for the great information on authors & stuff to look for I may not have looked for before. Never been in a book club, only know I person that likes same type of books I do, it feels like I’m sitting with 2 friends discussing books. A+ pod.

What a great podcast! I’ve been reading spy novels, westerns, and adventure paperbacks from the time I was a kid. I read them and then donated them to Goodwill. I don’t know if it’s the size, the lurid covers, or the sometimes goofy plots, but I always considered them trashy and not worthy of keeping in my library. But after listening to (42 episodes) of the Paperback Warrior podcast I have had a change of heart. I love listening to the history behind the books and the story’s behind the authors. The podcasters passion for these old ‘trashy’ books is contagious. I’ve cleared out a space in my library that’s going to be just for vintage mass-market paperbacks. I will collect them and display them with pride. Now if they would do a second podcast for vintage fantasy and science fiction paperbacks.

Eric and Tom have a lot to offer to the genre paperback fan. Well researched and presented, the hosts don’t bother with needless yackity-schmackity. You don’t get 3 hour ‘casts full of tangents and ads, no slurred dissertations about how drunk they are or deep discussions about what they had for dinner. This is a show for people with a real interest in the topic, who want to be informed and entertained. I always learn something new, even about topics I am well familiar with. One caveat: watch your wallet. These guys talk about so many good books it can get expensive! Thanks fellas, and keep up the great work!
