Publisher Description
A hardworking salaryman by day immerses himself on weekends in the pen-and-paper roleplaying game Dungeons & Braves, where he plays his favorite character: a max level wizard. When his real life abruptly ends, he is given a second chance as Geo Margilus, his magic user from the game. The powers, wealth, and enchanted loot that he gathered across endless hours of imaginary adventures are now made real. The catch? He's transported to the world of Sedia, a fantasy realm where evil abounds, and ravenous daemons threaten mankind.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Mikawa's punchy debut draws inspiration from the world of tabletop role-playing games aka TTRPGs. When a mild-mannered Japanese businessman stumbles through a portal to another world, he transforms into the powerful sorcerer Geo Margilus, his childhood TTRPG character. Geo must come to grips with his newfound skills, brave magical terrors, and forge alliances if he hopes to survive the realm of Sedia and defeat the horde of demons threatening to destroy mankind. Mikawa brings an energetic voice to this adventure, but the narrative lacks nuance and essentially becomes lists of spells and action sequences, with little atmosphere. Where this spirited novel succeeds is in its fast-paced plot, colorful protagonist, and striking illustrations by Ryota-H. Fans of tabletop games will enjoy this celebration of nerd culture.

Magic User: Reborn vol. 1
Really good
Not for me.
Not for me. It felt somewhat boring to me and well I really don’t like or care for the MC, too passive and feels to much of a pushover really. Not my type of MC, and then the D&D style I’m not upset over or anything as I enjoy D&D but I don’t think it’s really meant for novels because it’s not the most exciting read and it feels a little excessive for the world, but that’s just me.
