In Her Own Words

About In Her Own Words

Blending a hardcore-leaning rhythm section and emo-pop trebles, In Her Own Words is an emo/pop-punk revival band from Los Angeles. After issuing the Brand New Me EP in 2010, the lineup of Joey Fleming (vocals), Ian Berg (guitar), Eric Ruelas (bass), and Omar Sultan (drums) released In Her Own Words' first album, Everything I Used to Trust, in 2013. The acoustic East & West EP followed a year later, and 2015 brought the six-song Bad Weather, which included two acoustic tracks. The quartet made their label debut via InVogue Records in 2016 with the full-length Unfamiliar. Maintaining growing momentum, they issued a deluxe version of Unfamiliar in 2017 before getting to work on third set, Steady Glow, which was issued in 2019. ~ Marcy Donelson
