How Adding High Value Services Makes You Less Insurance Dependent

The Less Insurance Dependence podcast episode titled "How Adding High-Value Services Makes You Less Insurance Dependent" delves into the significance of incorporating high-value services, particularly cosmetic dentistry, into dental practices. Hosts Gary Takacs and Naren Arulraja stress the economic drawbacks of relying heavily on insurance plans, which often result in significant fee write-offs for dentists. By contrast, offering services like cosmetic dentistry allows practitioners to set fair fees and attract patients who prioritize quality care over insurance coverage. The episode highlights the shift in patient mindset from seeking free or insurance-covered treatments to valuing and investing in services that enhance their oral health and aesthetics. Emphasizing the need for skill development and effective marketing strategies, the hosts suggest that adding high-value services not only reduces insurance dependence but also leads to greater professional fulfillment and practice success. They encourage dentists to explore opportunities for continuing education, renew memberships with organizations like the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and consider coaching to integrate high-value services into their practices effectively.

I like listening to podcasts on my way to work, and this one has so much relevant information that I often pause it and “ask siri” to remember a piece of information for me. Dr.TCReed ,

Thanks!

Gentlemen,

Your content has been instrumental and foundational in me finally creating an insurance independent platform to take my practice up the ladder! A decade ago, we attempted to exit network participation without a real game plan. News flash...it did not work. Fast forward to 2019, and we now have a fully built and written system that we launched in late 2019. The pinnacle will be the planned exit from Delta in 2021. After acquiring a second practice location last fall, the plan is to implement this strategy once they are fully converted into our overall culture, operating processes, and protocols. We routinely incorporate the podcast content in our growth and development endeavors as well. To anyone browsing podcast land for great dental practice Mgt content, look no further and subscribe! You will likely binge listen once you start!
I look forward to meeting up with you and many other like-minded dental professionals at the One Day MBA Workshop in Austin. Thanks, Dr. Tom Reed
