Publisher Description

Wanted: an engagement of convenience. Found: A noble suitor.

Raised on a remote Scottish estate by her adoring grandfather, Lady Theodora Worth has inherited an earldom as well as the land itself. But when an upstart duke challenges her claim to the title and the Ladykyrk estate, Thea is suddenly in need of a husband—in name, at least. An elderly neighbor with a thoroughly modern sensibility and a dashing great-nephew just might be the answer to Thea’s prayers. Except she has no intention of marrying the first man she meets. That would be utterly ridiculous.

It just can’t be him. . .

Lord William Cavensham is entirely too devoted to his family’s estate—ever since he was jilted as a lad--to wed, but he agrees to meet the woman his aunt has taken under her wing—and introduce her to possible suitors. But after just one meeting with beautiful, spirited Thea, Will is determined to help her reclaim her title. And even moreso, he can’t stop thinking that perhaps marriage to this bold, passionate woman may be the one thing he’s been missing all along?

Enjoyable Story

Lady Theodora Worth’s grandfather held two titles. He was Duke of Ferr-Colby, an English title, and the Earl of Eanruig, a Scottish title. Thea was to inherit the Earldom and her distant cousin, the Dukedom when Grandpapa died. When the greedy cousin decides to contest Thea’s claim to the title and the estate, she seeks the advice of her neighbor, Lady Stella Payne. If she can find the original title charter, she can prove her claim, but it seems Grandpapa was forgetful and a bit addled at the end, so he hid thinkgs to keep them safe. Thea cannot find his hiding place for the documents for the title and the estate. Lady Stella thinks that she should marry, and she knows the perfect man for her, her great-nephew Lord William Cavensham. It might work, but it will not be easy to get these two together.

William and Thea are wonderful characters. They are clever, hard-working, kind, and caring. They like each other, but hold back. William was jilted when her was younger and Thea has lived pretty much alone and doesn’t want to marry in haste. Lady Stella and her friend Lady Edith are delightful meddlers. The new Duke is a greedy uncaring piece of work. The entire Cavensham family provides an army of support. The story is full of emotion, drama, uncertainty, and a fair dose of humor. It also has a mystery to solve, or more like a scavenger hunt, for the estate documents. The twists, turns, and surprises in the story hold you attention to the end. Rogue Most Wanted is an enjoyable read. I recommend it.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

Not very good entry in the series

This one was tough for me. I just didn’t like it as much as the previous books in the series. I thought Emma and Nicks book, and Daphne and Paul’s books were excellent. McCalpin and March’s book was good but less organic than the other two. With will and Thea I felt their romance came out of left field. Right after meeting, Thea feels like she can tell Will anything and that they are best friends, which I found silly. Then they go to London and I kept waiting for them to spend time together, but no, somehow they fall in love basically spending no time together. The language was very flowery too. So overall it wasn’t a bad book, it just didn’t work for me. I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series. The MC’s seem to know each other already so I have high hopes it will be as good as Daphne and Paul’s story. That seems to be the key here. The stories are definitely better when the MC’s have a previous acquaintance. Plus I think the hero of the next book is a virgin!!!!!! So I’m in.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from St. Martin's Press via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This was such a heart-breaker! I cried in a couple of spots. Thea is the Countess of Eanruig since the passing of her grandfather. It is an old Scottish title and one that could go to someone else if Thea is unable to find the charter to the earldom. Thea mets her neighbor's great-nephew Lord William Cavensham and asks if Will could be a friend to her as she doesn't have any friends. Will and Thea travel to London so she can appear before a committee to decide if Thea has any rightful claim to her title as her grandfather's successor to the dukedom is claiming he should also have the title (so he can claim Ladykyrk, her estate.)

The tale of these two is one that was fascinating and hard to put down. I have adored the prior stories in this series and was glad to see all of the prior characters here. It was like see old friends again as they help these two on their journey to their HEA. Poor William was jilted at the tender age of 19 and has vowed to never fall in love again. Seeing him fall for Thea and their fight to be able to love each other was so romantic and tender. I fell for William myself. He is such a strong man but caring at the same time. He was the right man for Thea as she struggles to protect her people. She is willing to sacrifice herself by marrying another if she must for the tenants of Ladykyrk, that is how strong and protective she is. She is the perfect foil for Will.

I adored the dual POV format. Seeing the thoughts of both of these characters really touched my heart and l totally was enchanted with their love story. I highly recommend this story and say that I will probably read and re-read this series. This is the kind of story that stays with one.
