Episode 77 -- Human Beings: Romantic Meatballs in Space Thunk Tank Podcast

    • Comedy

If you take a strictly materialistic perspective on the world, then you could argue that a human being is essentially a meatball. We are just a conglomeration of atoms that happen to have consciousness. But the religious person could argue that this revelation removes meaning and purpose from the world. Is objective reality the only truth we should believe in? Should the word “believe” even be in the same sentence as "objective truth"? Can you capture the beauty, meaning, and mystery of the human experience through only the objective and fact-based world of science?
This episode explores the tension between these viewpoints over some delicious craft beer. And we may or may not also explore what it would be like to make spaghetti and meatballs on the space station.
