The Gut Loving Podcast is all about irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and the low FODMAP diet. The low FODMAP diet is a relatively new approach to effectively treat IBS symptoms and is scientifically backed up by a vast number of medical studies.

The Gut Loving Podcast is hosted by Laura Tilt (an experienced Dietitian in the UK specialising in IBS and the low FODMAP diet) and Huelya Akyuez, patient and creator of project sezamee - gut loving food (video recipes and low FODMAP events) after living with IBS for over 20 years.

Together, Laura and Huelya started The Gut Loving Podcast to help others with IBS get clear on the facts - and learn more about how to take control of their condition.

Remember: Don’t start the low FODMAP diet without consulting your doctor or low FODMAP specialised dietitian first. The content of our podcast is not intended to be a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Wow!

This is exactly what I’ve been waiting to hear!
This has been really insightful as usually you are left in limbo from drs so I have had to figure my ibs out for myself. Please post some more podcast! I’ve sent this to all my friends suffering too

Thisnicknameshitisajoke ,

Finally!!! Something I can understand.

Thank you so much for this in depth ongoing conversation about low fodmap and IBS, including SIBO , which I have.
It’s made so much sense to me. I first did the low fodmap diet about 10 years ago and struggled on my own. I did it again about 5 years ago when I was diagnosed with SIBO, and was very strict with it for about 3 months. I’m now tackling it again, as I have recently had surgery on my bowel and am not healing well with it. So I figured going back on this diet again would at least help with my gut mobility.
I have a condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome hypermobility type, and this is a disorder that affects the connective tissue in the body, where it is lax basically and runs throughout the entire body. So very prone to tears, and lose valves in the digestive tract. And having surgery on connective tissue comes with it’s own problems. One of the major things for me that it affects is the Gastrointestinal tract and SIBO is very common or so I hear. I don’t know if you know anything about this but I would be very interested if you did know anything with regards the these conditions being related. GI problems with EDS hypermobility.
This podcast has made each stage of the diet easy to understand, I always struggled with how to reintroduce foods. Getting enough nutrients.
Just a big thank you from me. 🙌🏼

mandybradbury ,

So grateful

I was diagnosed with IBS about 4 years a go- not long after have my second child and going through some other traumatic stuff. The DRs seemed to not care and although they eventually ruled things out (after I had to suggest this to them) they gave me the fodmap diet suggestion. I had never been advised on subtypes, the importance of fibre and lots more. One DR actually said ‘it was all in my head as though I was making a mountain out of a mile hill but it was really affecting my life. I tried the low fodmap and my main support was from Facebook groups. I since developed a binge eating disorder which I believe is partly due to then doing low carb and being so restrictive. I never got to reintroduce because when I tried I had symptoms but it could have been fibre or anything and I regret not going to a dietritian. I’m only on episode 4 but the podcast has been so informative!! I feel so greatful I am able to listen to this for free. THANK YOU so much for taking the time to do it. I feel hopefull now I can recover from binge eating and control my symptoms better.
