Naked Humanity

Existentialist philosophers such as Albert Camus and Hannah Arendt once said the modern world has rendered us naked: we are stripped of traditional beliefs, grasping for truths constantly out of reach, and devastatingly aware of our finitude. Is this true? Where do we go from here? Who are we? Who COULD we be? For Season I of this podcast (all currently posted episodes) I ask historians, psychologists, sociologists, and biologists: what does it mean to be human in the modern world?
Deep, Messy, Beautiful.

My life fell apart a little bit for the last few years, and both of Stefani's podcasts have been instrumental in my quest for a future of health and meaning. "Naked Humanity" is the perfect companion for someone seeking to restore their faith in humanity, someone facing hard questions about science and spirituality, or someone yearning for a nuanced, balanced treatment of key modern issues. Thank you, Stefani, for being a beautiful, messy human on this great new podcast.
Long-winded

Couldn’t get through the 3rd episode. Too many episodes devoted to introducing the podcast and how the host will be hosting it.

But really, the way Stephanie makes you think about humanity and life is incredible. Not only is the provided information insightful and meaningful, Stef relays it in an open minded, confident, enticing way. I look forward to the new episodes each week!

Optimistic and Insightful

Stefani does a great job tackling urgent issues including sex, loneliness, religion, technology, science, and democracy. She deals with issues that hit us both emotionally and intellectually, things we need to think about to make our lives better. She interviewed me for her episode on Spirituality without Religion, and I’m pleased to say she really asked insightful questions. This podcast does the kind of thinking that helps to heal our fragile and conflicted world.
Love this podcast!

I spend most of my podcast-listening time on health and wellness podcasts, and I listened to Stefani for years on the Well Fed Women Podcast. I started listening to this podcast and it has been such a refreshing change from my usual podcast listening habits. I’m absolutely loving the topics Stefani addresses, and her perspectives on the topics addressed are wonderful to listen to as they diverge in some ways from some of the more dominant voices in the field currently, especially with regard to religion. Thank you, Stefani, for starting this podcast, it is a hugely valuable addition to the podcast world!
Religion and philosophy for the 21st century

Stefani Ruper and her work are a breath of fresh air to someone like myself who is a decidedly non-traditionally religious, passionately philosophical person. Rather than settling for platitudes, whether for or against these topics, Ruper respectfully yet lucidly explores these subjects, unafraid to point out structural points of weakness, get always on the spirit of seeking a deeper grasp of our situation(s). Very excited to see this podcast come back so strong as Naked Humanity. Episode 30 is already great and I can’t wait for more!

I found Stefani a couple of years ago on the Well Fed Women podcast, and was immediately drawn to her thoughtful, research-based approach to questions about women's health. The Meaning of Everything podcast is a truly valuable one, and I highly recommend everyone give it a listen. Stefani's open-minded yet highly intellectual approach to philosophy, religion, and science is refreshing, and the variety of expert guests have given me many ideas and theories to discuss with friends. Thank you Stefani for creating such relevant and meaningful content!
