Interesting Start to Series
I received a free copy of this ebook from the author in exchange for an honest review. I give this book a 3.5 star rating. This is the first book in the Blautsaugers of Amber Heights series. There is violence and some sex. This is a standalone book but has an open ending for future books in the series. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more about the Blautsauger family.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. I liked that the story started out differently from the typical vampire romance story. There's a lot going on in the storyline from multiple characters. Though ultimately this book is about Gabe and Cailey. She is headstrong and determined to prove that she doesn't need anyone. He is just as headstrong and wants to keep Cailey close, and he unwittingly puts her in harm's way by not giving her enough information about being a vampire. Can they learn to trust each other enough to be honest and succeed in fighting those trying to harm them?
