Buyer Beware

Update - I reached out to the support team and they walked me through steps to re-enable background audio, evidently this latest update changed the method and defaulted it to off. Terribly frustrating, but to their credit, support responses have been quick.

We’ve been using CuboAI for over 2.5 years now, as it was recommended to us when our first was born, and we’ve kept it for our second. Our first came early and we didn’t do much research, just took our friends recommendation and ran with it. In reading reviews now, and after using the app, I can’t say I strongly recommend it. Like many have previously stated, reliability is a huge issue. We’ve had it crash on us overnight several times, but thankfully both my husband and I run the app so we usually still hear our daughter if/when she cries. This latest update (2.14.1) seemingly has a bug that’s rendered it useless for me, as the app noise won’t run in the background. Tried restarting phone and closed the app out to no avail. Can’t figure out how to revert to a previous version, so have to hope they release a fix soon. For now will be leaving my phone open and on all night. Finally frustrated me to the point of writing a review - beware!

Another update, more stuff broken

The recent update has now completely broken viewing recorded footage, so you can only watch Live and that's it. And there are still bugs that remain unfixed, too :(

I really wish you would prioritize making sure the app actually works if you want to see what just happened to your baby in the past 15-60 seconds. It's always been impossible with Cubo. From Live, on both the landing page or full screen, I should see the time skip controls and they should actually work. You shouldn't have to go into full screen mode, tap the screen to bring up the timeline, drag to go back in time just for the +/- 15 second controls to appear, only for the controls to not work if you're too close to Live. So you have to go back in time like 2 minutes and sit there watching it for 90 seconds just to see what happened. You can't go into the event notification either because the video clip seems to take at least 5 minutes to get added. It's ridiculous.

Basic feature is lacking

The system and features are great! However, the most basic/key function of this system is to load the camera and it often struggles to do this. I have spent so much time staring at a loading screen waiting for the camera to load that I would rather use a basic baby monitor so I can at least quickly reference that my baby is ok rather than waiting for the camera to load every time I move away from the app. It’s cumbersome and frustrating to have the main feature of this system take the longest to load.
