About Chronixx

Reggae artist Chronixx began writing songs at age five and was mentored by his father, the Jamaican singer Chronicle. ∙ He got into production and rhythm-building when he was 16, working with such artists as Konshens, Popcaan, and Munga Honorable. ∙ Romaine Arnett of ZincFence Recordz convinced Chronixx to concentrate on his own recording career and released his 2011 debut EP, Hooked on Chronixx. ∙ Major Lazer featured him on the 2012 mixtape Start a Fyah, increasing his exposure outside of Jamaica. ∙ Chronixx’s 2014 EP, Dread & Terrible, reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart. ∙ His chart-topping debut album, 2017’s Chronology, earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Reggae Album. ∙ Chronixx received the Prime Minister’s National Youth Award for Excellence in 2017, in recognition of his contributions to Jamaica’s arts and culture.
