About Mickey Kojak

Self-proclaimed "King of Untz" Mickey Kojak debuted in the early 2010s with a versatile electronic sound that could range from pulsing club anthems to lush slow jams. Just a teenager when his debut single was issued, he released his first effort, the Alone EP, in 2016. With each subsequent release, he expanded his soundscapes, capturing an eclectic style on 2019's Together. Born Michael Dable, the Sydney-based producer -- who is also the vocalist of side project the Tapes -- debuted in 2014 with "Feel My Pain," a single featuring Tazzy. That track landed on his first EP, Alone (Sweat It Out), which also included hypnotic throbbers "Hit It" and "Move Too Fast." The next year, he took a softer direction on the Surrender EP, which included the crystalline hit "Ghost." By 2019, he adopted more eclectic elements, borrowing from acts like LCD Soundsystem, Daft Punk, and Miike Snow for Together (ALT: Vision), which featured "All That Acid," "Get Out," and "It's Gonna Be Okay," the latter recruiting Jake Stone (ex-Bluejuice) on vocals. That same year, he teamed with Bag Raiders for the single "Wild at Heart." ~ Neil Z. Yeung
