A Beautiful Spiritual Love Story
The title of my review doesn't do the book justice. Words fail me when I try to explain the magnificence of the tale and the beauty of it's characters. The trials and tribulations that the characters experience are written with the prose and verses of a master story teller. Mr. Reynard's writing makes you come to love and care deeply for both of the main characters of Julia and Gabriel, and those that surround them. In their journey one finds kindness, strength, redemption, love, and salvation of not just their physical lives, but also of their spiritual lives. For those of you who read this book you will see shades of the writings of Dante, C.S. Lewis, Graham Greene, and the exploration of love and what it truly means to love someone fully; plus be changed by that love. All this is set against the backdrop of a wonderful moving love story, full of characters the reader will not soon forget. The journey you will take with these characters and this author will change you.
A well written and absorbing read
I am coming late to this excellent series. I had not read the first book (Gabriel’s Inferno) but purchased the second (Gabriel’s Rapture) due to special pricing. Loved loved loved it. The relationship between Gabriel and Julia is complex and captivating. The many references to literature and art make their tale all the more absorbing and meaningful. Gabriel is one of the most well defined male lead characters I’ve come across, and Julia is his match.
This book is extremely well written. More so than most books of this genre.
Now I have to go back and read the first one. High purchase price but I’m hooked.
