The North Carolina-based duo Watchhouse (formerly Mandolin Orange) first brought their blend of folk, bluegrass, indie pop, and alt-country to the public in 2010. Ever since then, singers/multi-instrumentalists Andrew Marlin and Emily Frantz have kept on perfecting their earthy-but-elegant sound, paying more attention to crafting emotionally intense tunes than heeding the strictures of any single style—and becoming Americana mainstays in the process.
