About Fenisia

Employing a ground-shaking blend of riff-heavy groove metal, post-grunge, and searing hard rock, Italy's Fenisia emerged in 2012 with Lucifer, which sported a unique sound rooted in American Southern rock and a lyrical style steeped in mythology, alchemy, and the occult. Based out of Rome, the band came together in 2009 around the talents of Nic Ciaz (vocals & lead guitar), J Snake (rhythm guitar & back vocals), Doc Liquido (bass guitar & back vocals), and Tig Smith (drums), all of whom had played together in various incarnations since high school. Taking their name from the mighty Phoenix of mythology, Fenisia independently released their narrative-driven and symbolism-heavy debut album, Lucifer, in 2012. Generous airplay of the single "Damnation's Ballad" helped the band land key opening slots for the Misfits and Paul Di'Anno, and in 2016 they issued their sophomore full-length effort, Fenisia Café, another concept LP. The band brought their three-album story arc to completion in 2020 with the arrival of The Spectator, which marked their first release for Eclipse Records. ~ James Christopher Monger
