Marc Anthony Essentials

Marc Anthony broke out of New York's dance-music scene to find his true calling in Latin pop and salsa. Born in Spanish Harlem to Puerto Rican parents, he scored his first success as a backup singer for the Latin Rascals and Menudo, and a writer/producer for Sa-Fire. Then he heard Juan Gabriel's hit "Hasta Que Te Conoci" in a taxicab and decided to record a salsa version. That 1993 smash led to a long run of success including duets with his then-wife Jennifer Lopez, an English-language pop breakthrough in 1999, and a recent return to tropical grooves.
