“When I sit down and write a song, my main goal is to get to the guts of whatever the emotion is,” Caitlyn Smith tells Apple Music. “Because that then can create something that’s universal.” This short film and accompanying EP highlights in-studio rearrangements of a handful of songs from Supernova, the Minnesota-raised rising Nashville star’s acclaimed second album—an intimate look at what it means to get to that emotional place.
