Created by Michael Adams, author of The Murder Squad and Hanging Ned Kelly, Forgotten Australia delves deep into bloody crimes, dark histories, unsolved mysteries, eccentric personalities and bizarre happenings that are almost always stranger than fiction. Each episode brings to life people and events that were once known to everyone but are now barely remembered by anyone. Based on intensive original research, Forgotten Australia is crafted with a novelist’s eye for character and detail to create gripping narratives that sound so fresh it's like they're ripped from today's headlines. Probably Australia’s best researched podcast
09/12/2024
This pod is just a gem! Well researched, informative, and perfectly delivered. It’s the link to our past that we never knew we needed in Aus. My grandfather passed away in 2020 but I could imagine him listening to this with me and being as enthralled as I am. And he lived through some of these times! 10 out of 10 without a doubt.
Vanishing Cousins

Michael shows his versatility when interviewing Melenie Ambrose about the disappearance of Perth cousins in 1974. First class effort from Michael with a perfect mix of facilitating the telling by Melenie of the research she has done with thoughtful contributions from Michael. Very well done.

I highly recommend this podcast. Great in depth research that is presented well. I have learnt so much about the untold history and forgotten history of our nation.
Good but slightly annoying
24/11/2024
This is an interesting series but a couple of things annoyed me. Firstly, the in-series plugs for ancestry.com are incongruous and obvious. They take me out of the storyline. Secondly, the narrator’s pronunciations of some words are incorrect and annoying since it would only take a few minutes to google the correct pronunciation. Examples: Hawaii is said as Ha Why; Willemshaven is said as William Shaven; Esther is said as Ess Ther. That said, the stories are interesting and thoroughly well researched with a slight over reliance on newspapers as a source.
