Hickman Holler Radio With Tyler Childers

Go behind the scenes of Tyler Childers’ acclaimed new album Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven? with Hickman Holler Radio, a special series created and hosted by the beloved country singer-songwriter from Lawrence County, Kentucky. On each episode, Childers and a special guest will dig into some of the creative and technical processes integral to crafting the ambitious triple album, which presents eight songs in three different forms: the stripped-down “Hallelujah” versions, the fuller “Jubilee” takes, and the experimental “Joyful Noise” renditions. Guests on the series include album producer and mix engineer Kenny Miles to chat recording; Childers’ band The Food Stamps, who speak to the gospel songs chosen for the project; and Charlie Brown Superstar, a West Virginia-based DJ and producer who helped Childers translate a feeling into the blend of gospel, soul, and rock heard on the record. While Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven? is the focal point of the series, Childers and his guests hold far-reaching, open-minded conversations about the intersection points between faith and music, share never-before-heard studio and road anecdotes, and play some of the songs and artists that inspired them while creating such a personal project.
