The Lunar New Year is dawning, and new endeavours await. In the popular strategy game Rise of Kingdoms, this is the time to harvest, to build up and to secure the borders of your kingdom.
To celebrate an auspicious start to the new year, the game is now rewarding those endeavours. When you gather resources on the map or in your city, or when you defeat the barbarian camps, you can earn the Fu (Happiness) letters.
Collect enough of them, and you can raise your Blessing level to earn rewards such as keys and treasure chests, and eventually a special festive skin for your city. And because happiness is meant to be shared, you can send red packets with congratulations to your friends, giving them extra rewards and getting some in return.
There’s also a special series of missions during the Lunar New Year festive period. From February 10–14, three new missions will be unlocked every day. Finish them all by the end of 17 February, and you’ll earn more rewards to help develop your kingdom.
As the kingdom grows prosperous and mighty, it should also be decorated with splendour too. Check out the special Lunar New Year-themed items in the shop to see how you can spruce up your kingdom and show who’s in charge.
And while you raise your own kingdom to greatness, don’t forget to get family and friends to join in the fun as well. Invite them to become part of the same alliance, then help each other with building and fighting so you can all rise together. A new year, a new empire to be built!
