Save lives by doing what you already do. It’s been a founding principle of (RED) since the organization was formed in 2006; over the past 13 years, your support of Apple’s partnership with (RED) has raised more than $220 million.

These funds have provided testing, counseling, and medication to prevent women from passing HIV to their fetuses. This year will feature more than 20 (RED) products—from the iPhone and Beats headphones to cases and Apple Watch bands. A portion of each purchase goes toward programs to treat HIV/AIDS.

Even small contributions can make a meaningful impact.

One of (RED)’s earliest campaigns highlighted the Lazarus effect: Two pills taken daily can bring severely ill HIV patients back to health. In sub-Saharan Africa, this lifesaving medication costs as little as 20 cents a day.

“Thanks to extraordinary efforts by the global health community and every Apple customer who chose (RED), we’ve been able to make big strides towards beating this disease,” says Jennifer Lotito, chief operating officer at (RED).

Indeed, annual AIDS-related deaths have fallen by more than half since its peak in 2004, and over 23 million people have access to treatment today. But there’s still a ways to go, Lotito says.

“We’re in the fight of our lives to truly end AIDS once and for all.”
