Locked On Giants – Daily Podcast On The San Francisco Giants

I love Ben’s take on most of his statistical approach to the game as well as the mostly positive outlook he brings to Locked On. He often shares objective opinion, which seems overly objectively positive at times. The one drawback that I’ve noticed is the CRAZY amount of time on air that is dedicated to Ads, I often skip large chunks of the pods to get to the good stuff. I get that it’s there to make money; just an objective opinion here. Go Giants!

I definitely have been critical of Ben and his podcast, he still seems to spend nearly every episode defending Zaidi and diving into deep analytics with a inability and unprepared execution of relaying them. He has gotten better and i cannot fault him for his passion. Perhaps a little more preparation prior to recording and less defending of previous regime would be better imo

Do you think they should move hicks to the bullpen and put birdsong and roupp in the starting rotation both have had crazy good spring camps… and if hicks can throw 100 all season then he could be a difference maker in leverage situations coming out the pen I know he probably doesn’t want that, but do you think that would be best for the team??

I’m a big SF Giants fan for the last 40 years or so. I don’t get to watch much baseball anymore due to my work schedule but I really enjoy this show because it fills me in with what I’m missing. My only request is that when you talk about some of these new statistics can you talk a little bit about what it means and what is good? I want to learn these newer statistics but need some help along the way. Thank you for doing this show for all the Giants fan out there. I really appreciate it.
