About Sherbet
Formed in Sydney, in 1969, Sherbet became an Antipodean pop phenomenon, dominating the Australian charts throughout the 1970s and achieving massive success with the teenage and pre-teen audience. The band achieved 10 Australian Top 10 hit singles and enjoyed similar success with their albums. They relocated to England, but the novelty single "Howzat" was their lone crossover hit in their new country, reaching #4 in 1976, although the live favourite "You’ve Got The Gun" also received some play in the U.K. Bowed, but unbeaten, the troupe returned to Australia, renamed themselves the Sherbs and changed direction to a more mature, heavier AOR sound before slowly fading into the musical sunset.
