After updating to iOS 11.0.2 why is my iPhone 6 Plus running slow?

My phone has slowed down and apps including the Apple apps like safari don’t work properly .... once opened, I exit to home screen to switch apps then I return to safari and nothing happens but a blank safari screen and then my phone will reset

Reckon I need a new handset?

I bought an ipod 6th gen 64gb 4 months ago and now with IOS 11 i can't even use it in a proper way because of the slow interface & battery drain. I paid $ 300 for a device i can't use on high capacity for 3 hours straigth. If Apple wants me to keep buying they will learn this lesson: not everyone has a goldcard and will not buy Apple products in the future if they can manipulate it with software updates. IOS 11 is a bad reference for Apple.

I visited apple store , last week. they ran a check on my iPhone6. nothing was found in the check. They explained me there is nothing wrong with the hardware or software and suggested following,

factory restore- eventually i will loose everything and will take lot of time restoring all the apps and the password and sync everything which is a pain. as a normal person we have our life, kids and work , we can't just keep on making support calls/taking restoring back-ups /visiting apple store !!! And Why because Apple just release a new software which is making my 3 year old iphone6 unusable ?

Thanks for your advice but i don’t use facebook / twitter or snapchat. I use the ipod most for listening to music, but i’ve tested it on full capacity and now i can listen to it for around three hours instead of the 14 hours before without charging it. I’m very dissapointed and i will sell it for $ 50 on Ebay and get me a real quality device.

You are spot on. What a scam. So easy to fix, but no money in it. So sad to see this happen to a company I love, now not so much & I am an army of die hard fans feeling the same way. Apple - pay attention

Similar issue. Downloads from App Store are very slow. Typing is very slow. Siri recognizing dictation very slow. Apps take longer to launch or close (for example, playing a youtube video... then press home button to "exit"... voice continues to play for 3-5 seconds before closing). Did not happen in previous IOS versions.

obviously a huge problem for MANY people making the iPhone 6 pretty much useless for anything except making the basic ph call. Why won't Apple do the right thing and fix this? Greed? i hope not. Please do the right thing

same with me, they advised me to turn off most of the settings in order to save battery then whats the point of using the phone if its optimised of older harder infant not so old. And the point is my iPhone 6 was working absolutely fine on previous version of iOs. There should be an option to go back .

As everyone is saying, if you have to turn off so many features - why have this phone. Its starting to look fishy….want us to buy new phones??? The same thing happened w/ the older models as Apple updated iOS's...Apple please make this right…. next thing you going to see is the iPhone 6's blow up like a Samsung!!!! My iPhone 6 plus also runs very slow, apps crash all the time, take for ever to open...even the apps that come with the phone itself.

I have to reboot (holding home plus powerbutton) about ten times a day... because he just freezes up. I could just leave it be for a minute or ten but often the device restarts by itself. It seems like it's processor is constantly working in overdrive, with who knows what....

when i try to make a call, i might aswel reboot it first because when i don't... the call is in progress but i hear nothing and people don't hear me,so they hang up.

My battery life is reduced to a 3rd... but it's not the battery because the charging time reduced simultaneous .

What is happing Apple?????

You made our phones Unuseable. If this is Your strategy for making me buy a new one... mission failed.

I stopped buying the new iPhone every year since the iPhone 5s,because the changes weren't that big for me to replace a phone which worked perfectly fine.

But that being said...if this carry's on and i don't get a solution for this "not so minor" issues. Beter yet, a ton of issues... Then sadly, after 8 beautiful years, my new phone will not have a apple logo on it's back anymore.

Because You lost track of SJ's legacy.... bringing products to the world that work perfectly ,with a unseen user-friendliness. It doesn't "have" to be sjiek... it has to work first, the looks are a nice plus but may never be the main goal.

That's why Your clientele is shifting... from people who bought Apple stuff because it dit what promised to do..., to people who just care for the logo.

I think it's time for mr Cook to decide which clientele he wants...because the second category isn't far as loyal as the first. They go with what the trends say. And everybody knows...what's hot today, might not be tomorrow.

This whole lagging is certainly making me SERIOUSLY consider leaving Apple (after MANY YEARS) to go to another brand that doesn't intentionally mess with existing customers just so they will be forced to upgrade their existing phone to a newer version because they are so fed up!!

I have a suspicion this is a tactic, by Apple, for consumers to grow frustrated with their conveniently slow iPhones and waste money on a newer one.

terrible to see all us 6 users have been screwed by apple. We should not be forced to new phones after a couple years, I’ve had all sorts of bugs and slow moving and response time since upgrading. I did them all thinking they would fix, da why would I think apple would care
