Two Creative Guys Talk Shopify and Viruses

You may know that I use Shopify for my web presence. Well, Adam does as well, and he's been doing it longer than me. I had some people ask me about my thoughts about certain aspects of the e-commerce platform, but since I don't know nearly as much as I should, I decided to bring Adam in to talk about it.LinksThe Poster List websiteThe Poster List on InstagramDave's ArtDave on Instagram and YouTube

Rethinking the gallery experience, with Amy Stock

Rethinking the gallery experience, with Amy Stock

Although there are many artists who would publicly say they don't care about not having gallery representation, and prefer the independence of going it on their own, several (if not all) of those artists would privately be ecstatic if they could get into a gallery. I am one of those.Amy Stock, the founder/curator of Kennedy Grace Gallery in Long Beach would like to convert all artists over to this way of thinking, but with a new perspective on how galleries can work, and where they can be shown.Join us in our conversation regarding the importance and future of galleries within the progressive world of art sales in the 21st Century.Links:Kennedy Grace GalleryKennedy Grace on InstagramTour LBC - IOS / Google Play

Sculptor Tracey Weiss Knocks Down the Ivory Tower

You may think you know about the art establishment, and you might even be right, but I guarantee that artist, sculptor, and professor, Tracey Weiss may challenge your preconceived notions. In this episode, we talk a lot about the current state of visual arts, what it means to be an educator in this new era, and whether the people who run the establishment are really as evil as we think they are (maybe that's just me).If you enjoyed this episode, make sure to rate and review the show:Art Lessons Podcast on Apple PodcastsFind more of Tracey's work:WebsiteInstagramFollow Dave's creative anticsWebsiteInstagramYouTubeTikTokTwitter

Really great conversations

Dave is funny, smart & asks some really great questions about the creative life. His guests are always interesting & real. As a creative myself, these conversations always make me think. The episode dated 1/14/20 is exceptionally thought provoking as lots of good issues were raised regarding art presence & social media.

I love this podcast

Dave is funny and smart and insightful. When he talks it feels like he's every artist's best friend. And unlike a lot of others, he's actually got the cred to back up what he says. Great show!

Art, Life, Long Beach

As an artist/graphic designer in Long Beach I find a lot of things I can relate to on this podcast. As Dave likes to point out often, this is not a how-to, but a glimpse into the mind of an artist who's still figuring things out and taking us along on his journey. I appreciate that he doesn't sugar-coat his struggles and disappointments, but stays determined and positive in the face of them and finds motivation to continue his artistic pursuits. I love his rapport with Adam, and I like listening to them riff about all things Long Beach, including Donut Talk. When he has other guests on it's great too. Keep on keeping on, Dave!
