Publisher Description
Simon Drake is an up-and-coming young FBI hotshot, an agent with a personal track record so outstanding that it borders on unbelievable. Not yet thirty, he's already the leader of his own special ops team; a ragtag bunch of talented but nigh-uncontrollable lunatics, it's true, but under Simon's inspired leadership they're a force to be reckoned with, a team with an unparalleled success rate, a team with an almost unblemished record--until now. Jeremy Archer is the brilliant and unpredictable scion of a long line of international art thieves, simultaneously a phenomenally wealthy English socialite and one of the most infamous criminals in the world. At twenty-seven years old he's already wanted on nearly every continent for thefts totalling more than ninety-one million dollars, and yet no one has ever come close to catching him--until now. Now May the best man win. The first book in the Shadow of the Templar series!

A favorite I've had for years!
This is a book I found a few years back on an obscure site I stumbled upon through a fanfiction site. Despite its dubious origins, I immediately fell in love with the two main characters. One, and FBI agent with some serious pride and ample snark, and two, my favorite character of all time... Jaremy Archer will forever be one of my favorite thieves!
As I read through this for the first time, it was difficult to distinguish the FBI's initial code names and who was talking to whom (since they are all introduced at once while in the midst of a highly action packed sting operation). But once you get a feal for this diverse group of personalities, the characters are all different and each develops in a different way. And I must say I busted a gut over the the sheer volume of snarky comments and witty humor that is provided as a much welcome reprieve along the (admittedly unpredictable plot). M. Chandler provides the most vivid twist on cops and robbers I've ever seen. Although, be warned, although it is gradual and difficult to see at first, there is a definite homosexual tention between the main characters that contues to build throughout the four book series. I cant vouch for other's opinions, but my friends and I found it a long and drawn out romance with many ups and downs, and utterly romantic at times.
I fully reccomend this book as both a very entertaining and humorous story. If you"re a tad dubious still, get a sample and decide if you need to read the rest of it to go on with your life ^_^
