A guilty pleasure
Enjoyable short fiction.
Elizabeth Hunter has a fine sense of language. It helps here in making a sweet, sentimental story work. This is genre writing at its best or at least better. Not exactly great art, but a fine guilty pleasure like a tasty bob-bon.
I would gladly read a volume of this sort.
