About Cindy Walker
The writer of many classic country hits from the 1940s on, Cindy Walker’s successes included "Dream Baby" (Roy Orbison), "Distant Drums" (Jim Reeves), "Bubbles In My Beer" (Bob Wills), "I Don’t Care" (Webb Pierce), ‘Blue Canadian Rockies’ (Gene Autry, and later the Byrds) and "You Don’t Know Me" (Eddy Arnold). She also recorded for Decca Records in the '40s, reaching number five on the country charts with her version of "When My Blue Moon Turns To Gold Again." Despite moving back to her home state of Texas in 1954, she continued to churn out the hits, including the classics, "I Don’t Care" and "You Don’t Know Me."
