About Jim Ed Brown
Jim Ed Brown's first taste of success came as one third of the family act the Browns in the 1950s, best known for the 1959 #1 pop single "The Three Bells." After parting ways with sisters Maxine and Bonnie, Jim Ed embarked on a vastly successful career as a pop-tinged honky-tonk singer. From 1965 on, the smooth-throated singer scored dozens of country hits, including "I'm Just a Country Boy," "Morning," and "It's That Time of the Night." Brown may be best known for a series of mellow late-1970s duets with Helen Cornelius, peaking with "I Don't Want to Have to Marry You" and "Saying Hello, Saying I Love You, Saying Goodbye." He briefly reunited with his sisters in 1996 for the gospel set FAMILY BIBLE.
