Cheaper to buy direct from providers

I notice that sometimes it is cheaper to buy direct from Skyscanner’s recommended provider. That is — if you do not use the Skyscanner link to direct you to the provider but instead, access the provider’s system via the provider’s own app. Don’t get me wrong, I all for Skyscanner making a few dollars for locating the best prices. But in one instances, I found the difference to be almost 10 percent more (I do agree that the price of the ticket was cheap hence in percentage terms it seems disproportionate). In addition, I am sure there are still apps that will do this for free. My advice to Skyscanner? Skin a little. Sure. Don’t be excessive, before your old loyal fans go direct

Developer Response ,

Hi Geoff, thanks for your feedback. As a travel search engine, Skyscanner is a tool to help you plan your trip but we don’t charge you for this. Because we're a search agent we're also unable to guarantee prices but we try to keep these as accurate as possible. If you ever have a pricing issue going forward please feel free to contact us via the website and send us some details and we'd be happy to look into this for you. Thanks, Skyscanner Support.

Lack of reliable choices

Seems Skyscanner has lost its charm over the years. Most of the main liners are no longer working with the APP. Most of the tickets are mainly sold through the low rated 3rd party agencies.
Many scary experiences dealing with these low rated agencies were shared on the internet.
I personal dare not use these agencies. So what left in the APP?

Developer Response ,

Hi there! We rely on people being honest with us so we appreciate your feedback. If you want to let us know any specific suggestions, we're listening. Thank you!

Website is far better

Some useful features are gone, like 'don't show me airline combinations.' If you apply filters that give no flight results you can't tweak but have to reset all. Under filters some airlines show as on their websites (discounted) but if you try to filter to only that airline, it disappears. Search anywhere feature does not show several cheap flights as on other platforms. Are certain airlines paying Skyscanner for this new behaviour?

Update1: All of this behaviour applies to the App only, anonymously using their website still works normally. 'Signed in'? You are kidding right!

Update2: Developer suggested many users to use the app support button and fill the "help form", there is no such form, just going round circles of FAQs.

Developer Response ,

Hello. Thank you for your feedback - we’re sorry to hear this. If you have the time, can you provide further details by tapping ‘App Support' above please. If you fill out the help form with as much information as possible, one of our Support Team will then get back to you as soon as they can. Skyscanner Support
