Sexy, sweet and full of suspense!
A.D. Justice delivers the stunning conclusion to the Steele Security series with Shadow’s story in Wicked Shadows. From the first page to the last I was captivated, lost to Devon and Elle’s suspenseful and action-packed romance. While they initially seemed to be complete opposites, I quickly found myself invested in this unlikely couple. Elle radiated warmth and was kind to a fault, shedding light on the darkest parts of Devon’s soul while he in turn nurtured her overwhelming goodness and encouraged her to follow her dreams. They brought out the beauty in one another in a way that was utterly breathtaking, sharing a sizzling chemistry and an inexplicable connection that made my heart race and skip a beat. Devon and Elle’s common history and easy friendship allowed them to be honest with their emotions and unconditionally accepting of one another. The partnership that A.D. Justice nurtured between this duo was strong, capable of withstanding time and distance and impossible for readers to ignore.
Shadow was a complete enigma for so much of the series that the mystery surrounding this secretive and deadly man kept me on edge, anxious to hear his story and unravel the virtually unknown hero. A.D. Justice definitely didn’t disappoint, introducing readers to Devon, the man behind the mystery, and exposing him so completely it left me absolutely swooning. I adored hearing Devon’s history and getting to know his family. Finally being able to put the puzzle pieces together was incredibly satisfying and for the first time, I felt like I understood why Devon had worked so hard to become Shadow. I was definitely surprised by his relationship with Elle and stunned to discover how romantic and sweet he could be – a stark contrast to the silent, brooding CIA operative I’d come to know. A.D. Justice did a fantastic job giving Devon the kind of depth that allowed me to connect with the character and, by the time all was said and done, I had absolutely fallen head over heels in love.
Wicked Shadows was perfectly paced, expertly balancing the heart-pounding action with the sweet, romantic moments. I absolutely loved the storyline and found myself devouring this book, eager to find out what A.D. Justice had in store for Devon and Elle. I reveled in the dichotomy of their journey – thoroughly enjoying the contrast between their current situation and their past encounters. Filling out their vibrant world were the familiar faces of the Steele Security crew and a handful of new, colorful personalities who brought so much life to the story. I could not have imagined a better, more enthralling way to bring this phenomenal series to a close. A.D. Justice’s writing has grown so much since the series began and Shadow’s story was the perfect example of all that this talented author is capable of. Overflowing with raw emotion, brilliant imagery and heartfelt prose, Wicked Shadows was every bit the gut wrenching, pulse pounding, scorching hot and surprisingly sweet journey I’d hoped it would be and then some. Readers are in for an inimitable, highly addictive ride with Shadow and Elle!
