About Steve Marriott

Possessed of one of rock music’s most legendary set of pipes, Steve Marriott’s music career took of after he and fellow mod Ronnie Lane formed the Small Faces in 1964. Marriott emerged as the outfit’s public face, co-writing and singing most of their hits. After leaving the Small Faces in 1969, Marriott formed Humble Pie with Peter Frampton; the group toured the States throughout the '70s and became bona fide rock superstars thanks in no small part to Marriott's searing blues vocal stylings. Marriott’s stardom was considerably dimmer during the 1980s, however, when he was heard mostly on the European club circuit. Sadly, he died in a fire in his Essex home in 1991.
