App will not connect to iPhone XR running iOS 13.3

Hi there I updated the watch software twice in December 2019 when prompted. At that stage I had an iPhone 6s and it was a pain and took several attempts to connect the watch to the phone. Then I replaced my iPhone with XR. Installed the app onto new phone but the watch app will not find the watch even when I have manually searched and connected via Bluetooth connection. It seems there is an issue with the app. I have reset and restarted several times and am very annoyed because I live the watch.
Second point what is the point of backing up the watch? When you need to connect to a new phone you lose all the watch faces and apps that have been previously installed. This needs improving. Prior to December 2019 I would have given the app at least 4 stars. I contacted Samsung support via app and got a generic response without an update or timeline of a fix.
********UPDATE**********
I can't believe that worked today after multiple attempts previously. The watch model is 46 mm galaxy D7DA.
Thanks for assistance but to be honest it needs to be much more user friendly than it is with iOS.

I still would like the app to remember watch faces etc and apps loaded previously.

Great for notifications, but very limited

I came from a galaxy s8 to an iPhone XR. On the s8 notifications were fast and I loved the ability to quickly reply to a text message straight from my wrist. I was also very impressed with the ability to use satellite navigation on my wrist using the app ‘HERE we go’. Other great features included a dictionary, translator and currency converter. It felt like a fully featured smartwatch. Moving over to iOS, although notifications have been just as speedy, I am very disappointed with the lack of ability to reply to a text message or simply send one. So far I have also been unable to use any form of satellite navigation. I’m not usually one to complain, but since I paid nearly £300 for this device for the features that I mentioned above, it’s annoying that some of those great features are simply cancelled out because of lack of support, whether it be from Samsung or IOS. Rather than feeling like a smartwatch, it simply feels like an extra notification device. Please provide a solution so that it can feel great again instead of just satisfactory.

Developer Response ,

Used to work

App is installed on my iPhone and worked fine with my Samsung watch until recently. Now it sets the watch up on the phone and when it has finished pairing it wants me to log in to my account. It doesn’t ask for details it just gives me a button saying “sign in”. When I click it a screen comes up saying that I have logged in incorrectly and clicking “Confirm” takes me back to the previous page. I have singed into the account on my pc, restarted the watch, uninstalled and reinstalled the app but I can’t get it working with the watch again. Watch isn’t smart anymore.

Update: After a bit of Googling I decided to try and hard boot the watch and this resolved the issue. Not sure why this option couldn’t have been suggested by Samsung support when I was in live chat with them for an hour and twenty minutes. Happier now that I have everything working. Thanks for your response.

Dear user, we are really sorry to hear of your experience.
1. Please check your location and language settings and make sure they are set right. Please go to iOS settings→ General→ Language & Region.
2. Please restart both of your devices and try again to login.
Let us know how it goes, thank you.
