Enjoyed!
Jackie Davenport, 911 operator, refuses to date anyone in the field. What people don't realize is she stays away due to her father being killed in the line of duty and her mother never getting over his death. She wants uncomplicated, no commitments.
Jamie McTavish, a cop, is new to town. He transferred over from Boston to be closer to his dad who is suffering from Alzheimers. One look at Jackie and he's willing to tear down any walls she has.
This was a very enjoyable read for me. I really love finding books where the hero pursues the heroine relentlessly. He knows Jackie doesn't date anyone in the field but he also knows they have a pull like he's never felt before and he won't let her push him away.
Some may be irritated with how much she does push, but the author did a great job of giving us enough couple time in between the pushing.
Jamie was very forward with what he wanted and did come of a bit too cocky but I really loved how he went after Jamie and you can see he genuinely cared about her.
This is my first read from the author but it definitely won't be the last.
Complicated Feels
A Great love story of interesting people! I Loved how well rounded and “fleshed out” the characters are. The first meeting was Awesome! (I about cried laughing!) Then, we really get to know our main characters and all their strengths & faults. We FEEL for them and their struggles and want to shake them “Come ON! Get it Together! What are you Doing?” Our heroine is a complex woman..sexy, confident, vulnerable, outgoing, private, shut down & stuck. Our hero is a wonderful mix of confident, cocky, kind, strong, no-nonsense, sweet, take charge MAN. I absolutely Love how we get a Good Man who is strong, but he is also vulnerable and able to talk about his feelings…without losing his manliness! THAT is the sign of a Great author!
Thank You for this wonderful ride..I never got bored. I never felt like “I know what’s going to happen next.” There were some twists..but not such crazy twists that I thought “yeah right” because they were unbelievable. I loved the details about family & friends that made the story so rich & helped us to Feel compassion and empathy for the couple (as individuals AND as a possible couple) without ruining the story with Too Much drama. We came to understand how & why both characters are in exactly the right time & place to meet…and we cheer for them to get together.
Overall, I Loved this book…the journey, the characters, the story. A Great read!
Another Great Book By Elisabeth Grace
I give this story a solid 4.5 stars!
Girl meets boy. Girl resists boy’s sexy charm. Girl feels she’s damaged, wants boy to move on. Boy is patient. Boy won’t give up.
While the storyline is nothing new to the romance book world, Elisabeth Grace is such a talented writer that she hooked me into the story immediately and kept me engaged until the last page! I loved reading Jackie and Jamie’s story.
Make sure your housework is done, meals are cooked and tasks completed because you won’t want to put this book down until your finished!!!
