★★★★He’ll do anything for a second chance…★★★★
Deacon Hunter knows what it feels like to want. To ache. To crave the woman who captured his heart when they were deployed in Iraq.
To know that he screwed everything up with the one woman who trusted him.
One night changes everything…
Kelsey Ryder has scars, the kind of scars she hopes that no one ever sees. Working around the guys at the Pint, she’s reminded of everything she lost when she left the Army behind. But she can’t leave. She won’t.
No matter how much she might be afraid of the sleepless nights.
But some scars refuse to stay hidden.
Nothing will ever be the same.
Being alone in the dark changes everything. It’s the silence that breaks her. Makes her reach out to the one man she shouldn’t.
And Deacon doesn’t know if he’s strong enough to catch her when she falls.

Emotional story
I’ve read every book in this series, this one is by far my favorite. While they all have emotional story lines-soldiers returning from war & trying to fit back into civilian life-this one is about a woman injured in war, the emotional reactions to her injury getting her “separated “ from the army & then not being recognized by the VA as a combat veteran because she’s not a man.
I read a lot of “military romance” (I just read a lot) most are about soldiers using their skills in private sector & the women who love them. Jessica Scott’s books are more frequently about soldiers returning from war & having to settle back into family, normal life, etc. Her books ring true. Maybe because I know she’s lived this, but I think it’s that the emotions are true.
Great read
Wow this book brings out all the feels no one writes Military stories like Jessica Scott realistic and true.Deacon and Kelsey they had a past when the see each other at The Pint a neighborhood bar where Eli hires Vetrans, but both are letting the past rule their future can they work through all their problems and get their future? This is a must read book, it was good to see a familiar character Sar'nt Gale Soren he was a great character and added to the story Read this book!! I highly recommend this book
Moving Forward
Catch My Fall, the latest in Jessica Scott’s falling series, is not an easy book to read. Not easy in the sense that it deals with some very real, very tough issues. In many ways this feels like a much more personal book for Scott, though that is a hard bar to climb considering the gritty reality of all her books; this main character being a female soldier might have something to do with it or it could be her love of yoga. There were a couple places I wanted Scott to expand, but the fact she didn’t was keeping with the overarching theme of the book of moving forward and leaving the past behind. I am an admitted Scott fangirl and this book did not disappoint.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
