Great info and warm and supportive guests
This show is so great. These types of shows for comedians or musicians often tend to come off as "scoldy". There may be great info, but the hosts deliver it in talking down fashion.
Gatekeeper absolutely does not do that. This show comes off as very supportive of comedians and still gives great advice. That means I can hear the introduction come on without feeling like I'm taking my medicine.
Great job Jamie!
Behind The Comedy Curtain
As a comedy nerd, I love hearing about all the behind-the-scenes shenannigans, whether it's the booking process, putting a show together, or the day-to-day headaches that come with being a....GATEKEEPER. I recommend starting with Adam Eget's episode, which is very down-to-Earth and funny. It's nice hearing two guys trade notes and relate to some of the headaches that come with the job of booking comedians, especially the difficult personalities they come across. Todd Glass is in a very good DIY episode on how to spruce the club up on a small budget. Just remember comedians...BE COOL AS ____!
