Just when we think WIND Runner Adventure has shown us all its secrets, this gorgeous side-scroller manages to surprise us again. New gameplay elements are woven in from beginning to end, and we love the sense of achievement that comes from swinging over spikes, scaling cliff walls, and nabbing all 100 stars in each level—no easy feat!
Very Nostalgic but could use update
First I want to say that the game is great. The gameplay hasn’t been touched from how it was originally - it’s a true endless runner. However there are some suggestions I have.
- Bring back the weekly world and friend leaderboards! It was awesome to get bonus gold and prizes for doing well within the week.
- The old summon gate system was more coherent than what is in place now. The descriptions aren’t the most clear as to what can be summoned and how pets work.
- Similar to the above, the special bonuses you get when you start and die aren’t explained clearly. The game asks you to click on a powerup but doesn’t explain they’re limited or what they do. Newer players wouldn’t know.
- Lastly, the ads are fine for unlocking things but don’t put an ad after you complete a run to get the gold! I think you should have the small ad after the race and just receive gold instead of having to watch an additional ad to claim it.
Overall I would go back to the way the game was around 2013 and continue to update it with new events and weeklies. The game itself is fun but similar to other games, sometimes good gameplay isn’t enough if it’s held back by lack of updates or bad business decisions. Levels were more fun
This game is so much fun. And the characters look so cool! But I liked the game back before version 1.2 when there were levels to play through that were challenging. Endless runner is fun but can get a little boring and sometimes starts feeling repetitive. The game was changed so much between then and now that they might as well have made a new app and left the levels for those who liked it. Or maybe leave the option to switch between different game modes. That would be the best of both worlds!
