Learn to Love Again?
This was my first Elena Matthews book, but I categorically loved it and cannot wait to read more! I cried from page one—due to the painful subject matter, but literally laughed out loud throughout the book between the characters banter. I could not wait to turn the page to see what was going to happen next between them!
Jo inevitably lives in her past, desperate to keep her husband and best friend since they were 5 alive. They were supposed to have forever together. She tries hard not to show their son Junior how depressed she gets because she's lost without him. Christopher deployed to Afghanistan when Junior was only 4 months old so he only knows his father through what Jo has told him and pictures. They had to move to Austin for her job, which took them away from everything and everyone he's known all his life, as well as leaving behind the place that held every memory Jo had with Christopher. **How do you stop loving someone who was your whole world? How are you supposed to continue on when half of your heart stopped beating the moment his did?(**direct book quote**). Jo is convinced she's destined to be alone and is ok with that, if she can't be with Christopher she doesn't want anyone. Being intimate with another man, even the thought of his hands on her body makes her physically ill. Now they embark on a new beginning together, it's the fresh start Jo needed to get herself back. With this new beginning comes new relationships, including one with her sexy new neighbor Drew. They start off rocky, then their spark turns into an explosive inferno. How can Jo allow Drew to be her everything, her forever when she already had that with Christopher? You only get ONE person that you're supposed to love and and have forever with right,? That kind of love is irreplaceable, he is irreplaceable. However she did move to have a fresh start, but would her heart have room for anyone besides Christopher? Could Drew make it come alive again, after it died and she buried it along with Christopher? You'll have to read OUR FOREVER to find out, but it's more than worth your time to do it! Due to explicit sexual content and adult language this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older. I received an ARC copy via IndieSage for a blog tour review.
