Slash's Snakepit

About Slash's Snakepit

After Guns N’ Roses monumental two-and-a-half-year tour to support the two 1991 USE YOUR ILLUSION albums, guitarist Slash retreated to his home studio with Eric Dover, formerly of the Beatle-esque pop band Jellyfish. They wrote 12 songs in as many days and, after many delays, Slash’s Snakepit’s debut album, IT'S FIVE O'CLOCK SOMEWHERE, was finally released in April 1995 to strong reviews, Slash evidently revelling in the creative freedom it afforded him. It was supported by arena tours alongside Bon Jovi as well as a return to smaller, club-sized venues. After finally leaving Guns N’Roses in 1997, Slash resurrected Snakepit, with a completely new line-up, for the disappointingly retro AIN'T LIFE GRAND in 2000. Thereafter, Slash concentrated on another supergroup Velvet Revolver.
