About Nat Stuckey
Best known for his authorship of the classic Buck Owens track “Waitin’ in Your Welfare Line,” Nat Stuckey also appeared regularly (as both an artist and an announcer) on the long-running LOUISIANA HAYRIDE radio show and wrote charting hits for several other artists, most notably Jim Ed Brown. As a singer signed to both the Paula and RCA labels, Stuckey found success with “Sweet Thang,” and “Young Love” (a chart-topping version of Sonny James masterpiece done as a duet with Connie Smith), among others.
