Davy Jones

Cast as the Artful Dodger in the London and Broadway productions of OLIVER!, Manchester, England-born actor Davy Jones fatefully performed with the show's cast on THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW the night the Beatles made their first US appearance. After leaving the show, Jones moved to Los Angeles in 1965 and signed with Colpix Records, and released three unsuccessful solo singles before becoming the first castmember hired for a new TV series called THE MONKEES. After the Monkees' 1970 split, Jones released several modestly successful bubblegum singles and appeared in a memorable episode of THE BRADY BUNCH.
