About Scotty Moore
As the lead guitarist on Elvis Presley's epochal Sun sessions, Scotty Moore had as much to do with creating the template for rock & roll guitar as Chuck Berry or Bo Diddley, profoundly inspiring subsequent generations of rock guitarists. Moore continued to work with Presley when the latter moved to RCA in the early 1960s, but in '64, he began a career as a studio engineer. While he continued to work as an engineer for decades to come, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honoree never gave up his guitar, playing into the 21st century, with everyone from Carl Perkins to Eric Clapton.
