Cool Uncle

Cool Uncle

This homage to ‘80s-styled crooning brings together two generations of pop and soul performers. Best known for his 1979 cabaret ballad hit “What You Won’t Do For Love,” “Cool Uncle” Bobby Caldwell sings over production by R&B musician Jack Splash. Their songs feature delightful little touches, like the steel drums underneath “Miami Nights” and silky duets with Mayer Hawthorne on “Game Over” and Jessie Ware on “Break Away.” In a gothic twist, Caldwell presents himself as vampire over the electronic funk beat and skipping guitar of “My Beloved.”
