Following up on his book Sonic Mosaics: Conversations with Composers (UA Press, 2009), composer Paul STEENHUISEN began producing the SOUNDLAB New Music Podcast to further explore the work of international contemporary music artists. Each episode includes a comprehensive interview, and musical examples related to the discussion. Fascinating and insightful
Steenhuisen is gifted and well versed which makes the subject even more interesting
Like a pathway in autumn.
Very insightful and thought provoking. Well done.
Asking good questions
Paul has a great way of asking good questions. He is so prepared for his interviews, and at the same time, has an openness to where the conversation may turn, planned or unplanned. Audio excerpts during the podcast are always well-chosen, and help give the listener an aural context for the interview.
