Gretchen Rubin is HAPPIER, and she wants you to be happier too. The #1 bestselling author of The Happiness Project and Better Than Before gets more personal than ever as she brings her practical, manageable advice about happiness and good habits to this lively, thought-provoking podcast. Gretchen’s cohost and guinea pig is her younger sister, Elizabeth Craft, a TV writer and producer living in Los Angeles, who (lovingly) refers to Gretchen as her happiness bully. Hacks and tips for a happier life
This show just gets better and better with so many practical small life hacks for living a happier life. I love that the two sisters are similar in some ways and very different in others so they always have a range of tips and acknowledge that what might work for one person might not work for another. As Gretchen says the best hack is to get to know yourself - I’ve just turned 60 and I’m still working on it! Thank you both for your work
More about self improvement than happiness
I liked the first episodes the more I heard the more neurotic it all started to feel. We don’t need to be tidy all the time or have perfect posture or be productive or get the perfect amount of sleep… etc etc… to be happy. I’d love to hear more about pleasure and joy and less about new rules, restrictions and self control, personally. But maybe that’s because I already have routines and habits that work for me and I have a base of general happiness and balance. Either way, the content wasn’t really for me in terms of being happier.
