With Every Breath

I was gifted this book for an honest review.This book pulled me in from the first page, It's a story about regrets, lost love, heartbreak and second changes, the one special person that got away. It's about life long friendship, Its about facing your past and growing from it. It's about forgiveness and learning when to walk away. The characters were well developed and believeable. MIa is Jaden's best friend, something is off with her. Jaden decides to return to the small town she has avoided for years, mainly to avoid her less than wonderful mother. The book gave me hope, it made me cry. It made me smile and laugh out loud. I hope there will be a book two, I need to know what life ha in store for Mia. Will Hillary & Troy ever figure out what they feel for each other. Yes Riverbend is a town I want to visit again and again. Five well earned stars for With Every Breath, Niecy Roy, you have a new fan.

This is the first book in a new series by the AMAZING Niecey! Jaden is returning to the hometown she spent her teenage years in, to visit her best friend. The last time she talked to Mia, she could tell that something was going on in her friends life and she wanted to be there to help her if possible. Jaden had a crush on Mia's older brother for as long as she knew his family. Then, just as they were getting ready to take the plunge and start a relationship, Cole's ex girlfriend shows up pregnant, so she left town with plans to never return.

She likes the life that she has built for herself - she has a dream job, with the freedom to travel where ever she wants AND she gets paid for it. She decides to drop in on Mia's life and find out what is going on, before Mia has a breakdown. However, her rental car breaks down before she can get there and she has to call Mia for help. Mia, being Mia, calls her brother to go and help Jaden.

Cole is in the process of his wife divorcing him. When he found out that she was pregnant, he did the right thing by her and married her for the sake of their son, even though it cost him the love of his life. Now that he will be a free man, he can't stop thinking about Jaden and how he let her slip out of his life. When he gets the call from Mia asking him to go and help Jaden, he has to wonder if he is being given a second chance to do things right.

When Cole shows up to help Jaden with her car problems, she doesn't know that he is no longer with his wife and she takes offense when he asks her out to dinner. She is determined not to let him into her life a second time, but Cole is determined to win her back and show her that they could be perfect together. Will they be able to put the past behind them and walk into the future together, or will lies and manipulation destroy them for good?

I love all the characters that Niecey fleshes out in this book and I am sooo looking forward to more books in the River Bend Series. I could see there will be stories for at least five or six people that I would love to read. There were a lot of laughs, some good sexy times and wonderful conversations with multi-generational characters. Just goes to show that you are never too old for sexy times or love.
