Help! I Have A Teenager
Being a teenager has changed. A lot. There’s TikTok, vaping, d*ck pics, there are Snap maps, selfies and filters...and it's all a potential battlefield for parents where the stakes feel impossibly high. So welcome to some real parenting talk. As both clinicians and parents, Dr. Ginni Mansberg and clinical psychologist Jo Lamble know first-hand how challenging it can be to raise adolescents. This is why they're bringing their common-sense expertise to Mamamia’s Help! I Have A Teenager. Every week Dr. Ginni and Jo will be answering your questions, and you can submit them at podcast@mamamia.com.au

Love this show. Please don’t retire it. I’ve listened to Holly and Andrew on TGM and now jumped across to HIHAT and it has given me hours of entertainment and handy hints I can implement into my parenting life.
One of my favourites!

I just want to thank you so much for all the advice you give. Navigating the teenage years can be so stressful and I love being able to get advice on so many topics and listen to them at a time that suits me. I also like that it’s all free.
Great podcast!

Very helpful advice for parents of teenagers. And they offer practical tips!
Patronising and a lack of vulnerability

I love the discussion topics and was excited to listen. However, the presenters come across as a bit like know it alls, they are doing everything great and have little vulnerability. It’s hard to relate to and it feels like they are talking down to their audience from a superior position. It makes me sad because being a parent of teenagers with no parents of your own is so awfully hard. I’m keen to listen for ideas and support but not from people who don’t sound like they are down to earth, people who haven’t faced huge struggles. Tell us about you more, be vulnerable, be real, the listeners will trust you and believe you more if they think you are one of them. No need to be better than everyone and competitive (your intro about how amazing you think you are at the start just kills the trust).
